CT Music Straps History: Began with a book…

In 1976 C.T. Strickland Jr. read a library book on making a fast draw leather gun holster, with Tandy Leather Company, Fort Worth, TX as a resource. He learned leathercraft and worked part-time at a local Tandy Leather dealer. For years C.T. handcrafted arm bands, belts, wallets, purses, gun slings, belt-holster rigs, and straps on the side while working in manufacturing, design, and engineering.

CT Music Straps is Founded…

C.T. Strickland grew up singing and playing instruments with his family in churches. In 2000-2003 he discussed the concept of well fitting, designer instrument straps for use on stage with award-winning recording artists, Rhonda Vincent and The Isaacs. After outfitting them, he incorporated CT Music Straps in 2004. Clients have ranged from Bluegrass, Gospel, and Country Greats, to Norah Jones.

An American Design Team…

In late 2004 C.T. Strickland Jr. contacted veteran calligrapher, Trish Taylor in Austin, TX, to design a personalized letter offering for clients. Soon after C.T. and Trish collaborated with lettering and floral designs, and Alabama native and equine competition winner, Heather Boynton Elmore joined the team to offer Swarovski crystal rhinestone embellishment. After Heather expanded her career with dentistry, the company contracted other various freelance designers and craftsman on a needs basis to continue this fine, American tradition.

Our Mission: Improving our Product…

CT Music Straps is known for high quality products and specialized service to both domestic and international clients. We listen to our customers, considering their needs and ideas. The instrument gear we handcraft today is a result of that feedback; designed for durability, built stronger, and more practical than ever, as we tweak our process each passing year. On occasion, C.T.’s son, Andrew Strickland, offers input for new project design. Every operation required to produce custom projects and fine leather goods is accomplished entirely by the hands of skilled artisans, and craftsmen. We strive to produce the highest quality product with the lowest maintenance.
